Working conditions:
During the industrial revolution the lower class had to work in horrible and dangerous conditions, and they got paid very little. These lower class workers had to support their families with this pay. They worked in factories which were extremely hot and crowded. Common workers would usually work for 12 hours or more a day, some of the workers would start as early as eight years old just to support their families. On the other hand the higher class richer people had a lot of respect, money and land. They also did not have to work in horrible conditions and got paid really well. This is why a lot of the lower class wanted a change in society, but the upper classes did not want a change. This disagreement caused riots and fights to change the way the government ran.
Living conditions:
Bad Working conditions were not the only thing the lower class had to deal with because of little income they received the lower class moved near their jobs the factories, this created cities but these were not glorious and clean cities because mostly lower class people lived there was no money. Because of the lack of money people had to live in crowded and dirty apartment which were also a hazard because of how dangerous these apartments were, In the cities there was a lot of crime and no law enforcement . This meant people could steal freely and if there was an emergency there was no one to help the people and above that the water was not clean which caused waterborne diseases that had no cure. All of these circumstances needed to be changed because if they kept going like this no one would be left. Also during World War one people lived horribly during the summer it would be too hot and in winter it would be too cold a lot of the the soldiers would freeze at their posts. This is another reason a lot of societies changed because people were living horribly.
